Description:   It is the policy of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) to provide medical services and continuity of care to incarcerated individuals. Continuity of care is provided from admission to transfer or discharge from the facility and shall include referral to community-based providers when indicated. These services are to be accessible to all incarcerated individuals, include an emphasis on disease prevention, and reflect a holistic approach in accordance with approved levels of care.Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) is the juvenile justice agency for the State of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10 to 21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohios 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay at one of three DYS facilities, youth are engaged in programming that is designed to address their criminogenic and behavioral needs. There are three DYS facilities in the State of Ohio. All three facilities have a year-round school that offers general curriculum as well as vocational opportunities. DYS facilities have full-service medical areas to include but not limited to physician services, nursing services, x-ray/ultrasound/echo services, phlebotomy services, pharmacy services, optometry services and dental services.The objectives of this RFP are:Delivery of healthcare services to the inmate/youth population through improved utilization management.Coordination of CareDecreased Procedure CostsPromote healthcare delivery decisions based on cost, productivity and/or outcome data.
